This is the time of year around here where everything by necessity becomes slow. It is just too oppressively hot to do anything outside at all but run from the door to the air conditioned car. We try to make it to the pool a few days a week at least to get in our outside time....but it is soooo tempting to stay inside. I like to poke around at the mountains of things which require my attention (not my children, I don't poke them, just squeeze and kiss!) I am by nature a putterer. The sewing bug has overcome me of late and I am in a bit of knitting slump. I have several projects going currently and I'll show picture of finished things as I get to them. Here is a dress I made for Biddy-boo. I think it turned our rather nicely. The pattern is this one ....
and the embroidery pattern is from another non-practicing librarian. The fabric is cotton with a verypale green pinstripe. Very cucumbery-coolish. I think she's adorable...but then, I may be a bit biased. The inspiration for sewing this comes from my very talented and envy-inspiring SIL. She gave me some of Maggie's old dresses she sewed using the same pattern and we affectionately call them Maggie-downs. They are the first items reached for from the dress-drawer.
