Can I crow, momentarily? First off, this is late....everything about me is late...I've given up apologizing. December is a whirlwind around here. We have regular Advent busyness, and then add a slew of Birthdays, a Ballet with rehearsals and a Theatre Production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and rehearsals and things get down right roccoco. Phew.
That said, I have to take a brief moment and show you a picture of my lovely Sophie made up for her little role in the BCPE. She didn't mind one bit that her part was small. She showed up every rehearsal with a big smile on her face, ready to do whatever needed doing. I was so impressed with the way she comported herself among her peers.....she really did shine.
On the last day of the show(fourth day), one of the other children didn't show up. The girl had a part that Sophie was particularly enamored of...it had singing and choreography. She marched herself up to the Director, announced she knew the part, (without being prompted, mind you), belted out the song with choreography a capella, and then filled in. The Director used the moment to make an example to all, pointing out that if you don't do what you ought, there will be someone waiting in the to fill your shoes. Go Sophie (mommy is cheering in the wings)!
